Congress takes strong objection to TDP remarks against PM
Hyderabad, Aug 1 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today strongly objected to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu's remarks against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that he had got the top post through the 'backdoor'.
Addressing a press conference here, the party's official spokesperson N Tulasi Reddy said as per the Constitution, either Lok Sabha member or Rajya Sabha Member could become a Prime Minister.
He claimed that Mr Naidu's remarks amounted to disrespect of the Constitution.
Mr Reddy alleged that in fact, Mr Naidu becoame the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh ''resorting to backdoor methods'' by backstabbing TDP Founder-President and his father-in-law late N T Rama Rao.
