Cong releases booklet on disinformation by Left

Hyderabad, Aug 1 (UNI) The Congress today released a booklet on Mudigonda police firing issue, highlighting the disinformation campaign by the Left and the TDP against Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

Printed by Congress MP Undavalli Arun Kumar, the booklet alleges double standards of the Left leaders by comparing the issue with Nandigram.

''Firings are common in all states. A Police firing resulting in casualties is also common,'' the booklet quoted CPI(M) state secretary B V Raghavulu as saying soon after the Nandigram episode.

The book asked the Left leaders to explain how Nandigram issue was different from the Mudigonda and whether the demand for Chief Minister Rajasekhara Reddy's resignation was reasonable or rational.

It claimed that the Congress Government in the state had not only condemned the firing at Mudigonda, but it had also ordered a judicial probe into the incident and announced compensation for the kin of the deceased. It asked whether the West Bengal government had ordered probe into Nandigram or declared compensation.

The booklet alleged that the intention of the agitation was to destabilise the government and ouster of Mr Rajasekhara Reddy but not Bhooporatam. The Left leaders gave sufficient indication of it in their statements before and after the Mudigonda incident, it said.

Questioning the morality of the Left in joining hands with the TDP in trying to seek the ouster of Dr Reddy, it asked whether there was any other purpose to the 'Bhooporatam'.
