CM, Ministers, LDF leaders to stage protest before Parliament

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 1 (UNI) Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan along with Ministers and other LDF leaders would stage a protest before Parliament on August 20 as part of the party's decision to take to New Delhi its protest against the Centre's neglect of the state's needs.

''The Centre has not sanctioned adequate assistance for flood relief operations. So it was decided to stage a protest in front of the Parliament on August 20 to press our demands,'' he told reporters after a Cabinet meeting.

All the MPs from the state would hold protest before Parliament on August 10 the first day of the Monsoon Session, he said, and added he along with Ministers and other leaders would join the protest on August 20.

He also condemned the unilateral decision of the Union Railway Minister to form Salem Railway Division by dividing Palakkad Railway.
