Century Extrusions plans expansion of its Bengal unit

Kolkata, Aug 1(UNI) Century Extrusions has planned to expand its capacity for manufacturing Aluminium Extruded Products to 15,000 MT per annum from 7500 MT at a capacity outlay of Rs 34.50 crore.

The company has been operating at full capacity for the last 4 years.

'' The expansion will be done at its existing factory site at Kharagpur in Bengal,'' a release said adding that Century Extrusions is currently negotiating with global extrusion press manufacturers for supply of the Extrusion Press for the expansion project. The lead time for press supply being in the range of 10 to 12 months, the company expects the expansion project to be completed in 18 months to commercial operation in the first quarter of 2009.

The project cost of Rs 34.50 crore would be funded by way of additional equity/debt or a mix of debt and equity, which will be decided in due course.

The company has reported a sales turnover and PAT of Rs 30.69 crore and Rs 54 lakh respectively in the first quarter of 2007-08.

The sales turnover of the company in 2006-07 was Rs 118.7 crore and the net profit was Rs 2.18 crore.
