Cabinet approves exgratia for Mudigonda victims' families
Hyderabad, Aug 1 (UNI) Terming ''unfortunate'' the recent police firing in Mudigonda which left seven people dead, the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet today approved Rs five lakh ex-gratia to the victims' families.
After the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy directed Revenue Minister D Prasada Rao to hold talks with the Left party leaders to find a political solution to the land issue.
Information Minister A Ramanarayan Reddy told reporters that the Chief Minister was very particular that police should observe utmost restraint while handling stirs.
He recalled the Chief Minister's address at a meeting of the Superintendents of Police in which he said, ''when a mob fury is there or a political agitation is to be controlled, I will not be concerned even if the police retracts. At times, police has to retract. At no point of time, they should go to the extent of killing people.'' Stern action would be taken against those found guilty in the judicial probe, the Minister said.
