Brahm Dutt takes over as Road Transport and Highways Secretary

New Delhi, Aug 1 (UNI) Mr Brahm Dutt, a 1973 batch IAS officer of the Karnataka cadre, took over as Secretary, Road Transport and Highways in the Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways here today.

Mr Dutt, who till recently held the office of the Chairman, National Authority, Chemicals Weapons Convention in the Cabinet Secretariat, took over from Mr Vijay Singh, who has joined as Defence Secretary.

Earlier, he worked as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Industry from 1994 to 1999 and later Special Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training, from September 2005 to January 2007.

He also served as Commercial Counseller and Financial Advisor at the Indian Embassy in Washington and also as CMD of Mysore Paper Mills, a public sector undertaking under the Karnataka Government.
