BJP to approach judiciary against Goa Speaker

Hyderabad, Aug 1 (UNI) The BJP will approach the judiciary against Goa Assembly Speaker Pratap Singh Rane, who debarred three Legislators from taking part in the vote of confidence that ensured the survival of the Congress-led Digambar Kamat Government on July 30, party National Spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said today.

Addressing the Press here, he said the BJP would bring the issue to the notice of the judiciary and raise the matter in all fora at the national level. The BJP would fight against the issue till it got justice, he added.

Alleging that the incident was a ''daylight murder of democracy'' and the Congress had exhibited its ''draconian and dictatorial'' tendencies, Mr Javadekar said ''it was atrocious to see that the Speaker restrained two MGP MLAs and a Congress rebel MLA from voting in the floor test.'' He said the Congress had not learnt its lessons from the Bihar and Jharkhand episodes where it had failed to topple the BJP-supported Governments recently.
