''Banglore One'' centres to speed up e-governance in K'taka

Bangalore, Aug 1 (UNI)The Subordinate Legislative Committee on e-governance has recommended setting up ''Bangalore One'' centres at district level to provide benefits of e-governance to commonman in the state.

The report,tabled in the Legislative Assembly by its Chairman Yogesh Bhatt has given several recommendations to boost e-governance and its strict implemeantation in all government departments.

The committee had expressed its happiness about the performance of the ''Bangalore One'' centres which caters to the needs of the citizen in making payments for utility bills of various government departments under one roof in the city.

The report said that there was a need to give training to all elected representatives starting from Gram Panchayat to the Vidhan Soudha for its successful implementation.

The report had asked the government to implement the recommendations by August, 2008.
