Badal to launch 'Atta-Dal Scheme' on Aug 15 at Ludhiana

Chandigarh, Aug 1 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister.Parkash Singh Badal will formally launch the ambitious 'Atta Dal Scheme' at Ludhiana on August 15.

Disclosing this here today Chief Secretary Ramesh Inder Singh said that all arrangement have been completed to launch the scheme on the scheduled date.

Mr Singh held a review meeting with officials of various departments from all districts of the state to ensure smooth implementation of this ambitious scheme of the SAD-BJP government.

Mr Singh said that 13,21,670 blue cards had been prepared and distribution of the cards which was going on would be completed by August eight. However in the four municipal corporation cities of Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala and Jalandhar where MC polls are to be held, the distribution of cards would commence after August eight but will be completed before the launch date.

The required quantity of wheat and pulses had already been procured and dispatched to the distribution points to make it available with the dealers well before August 15.
