AYUSH to set up spl therapy centre at Rohtak

Chandigarh, Aug 1 (UNI) The Haryana Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) will set up its specialised therapy centre at Pt B D Sharma Post-graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak.

The department would also provide services of Panchkarma Therapy at the Government Institute of Indian Systems of Medicine and Research at Panchkula during the current financial year, Haryana Health Minister Kartar Devi said today.

She said a budget provision of Rs 34.10 crore had been made for implementation of various schemes of AYUSH during the current financial year.

Speciality clinics of AYUSH have been opened at civil hospitals in Gurgaon, Hisar and Ambala. Specialised Therapy Centre has also been established at Civil Hospital, Jind.

Financial assistance of Rs 52 lakh had been released by the Central Government for these projects.

She said a Drug Testing Laboratory of AYUSH and Government Ayurvedic Pharmacy would be set up at Kurukshetra with central assistance.

With a view to integrating AYUSH with allopathic system of medicine, 21 community health centres had been identified by the State Health Department under National Rural Health Mission.

Ms Kartar Devi said it had also been decided to open 15 new Ayurvedic dispensaries during the current financial year and organise 20 fairs with medical camps of AYUSH so as to enable the people avail the benefit of services of AYUSH.

She said the Government had set up District Ayurvedic Office for Mewat district at Nuh.

There were three Ayurvedic Hospitals, one Unani hospital, six Ayurvedic Prathmic Swasthya Kendras, 473 Ayurvedic dispensaries, 19 Unani dispensaries and 20 Homeopathic dispensaries in the state besides the Institute of Indian System of Medicines and Reserarch at Panchkula.
