AP Cabinet nod for ordinance on faster land acquisition

Hyderabad, Aug 1 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet today gave approval for promulgation of an ordinance to facilitate faster acquisition of lands for various developmental projects.

The Ordinance provided for amending the Land Acquisition Act,1976, for appointment of Special Collectors for expediting land acquisition as the process presently was getting delayed due to paucity of time for the District collectors concerned, Information Minister A Ramanarayan Reddy told reporters.
