Woman killed for dowry; husband, in-laws held
Mahoba, July 31 (UNI) Police today recovered the body of a woman, who was allegedly poisoned to death by her husband and in-laws here.
In a complaint at Panvadi station, the deceased's father Shiv Prasad had alleged his daughter Geeta was killed over dowry by her in-laws.
On June 19, 2005, Geeta was married to Khem Chandra of Nagaraghat.
Since then, she was constantly being harassed by her in-laws, who had kept a demand of Rs one lakh in cash and a motorcycle.
When their demands were not met, they allegedly murdered her three days back and locked her body inside a room.
Khem Chandra, father-in-law Kadhera, mother-in-law Shivpati and sister-in-law Usha Devi had been arrested and sent to jail, police said.
