Vocational education network being strengthen in HP, says CM

Shimla, Jul 31 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said vocational education network is being strengthened by providing technical skills to the youth and help them in getting employment.

Addressing a public meeting at Ranol in interior of part of Rohru Sub-Division of Shimla district, he said a large number of engineering, polytechnic and ITIs had been opened in public and private sectors providing technical education to the youth of the state.

Mr Singh said one engineering college in government sector had been started at Sundernagar, while two medical colleges were likely to be started in Mandi and Hamirpur districts soon.

Private participation was also being encouraged to impart quality technical education to the youth of the state, he said.

Besides one polytechnic B Pharmacy college had been started in Rohru, he said, adding that one ITI for Chirgaon to be made functional from this session.

The Chief Minister announced a school building for Government High School at Ranol and said funds would also be made available for the restoration of temple of local deity Devta Sahib Khanotu to help the devotees in carrying out their devotional activities.
