Transport situation to ease in Delhi: CM

New Delhi, July 31 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today said the transport scenario in the capital would definitely improve before the 2010 Commonwealth Games, as 27 flyovers and underpasses and 31 foot overbridges had been commissioned.

Apart from this, her Government has also decided to bring fast moving buses including air-conditioned buses in the city.

While speaking to a gathering after laying the foundation stone of a grade separator and flyover on NH-10, Delhi Rohtak Road covering Najafgarh and Kirari Mor intersection, she said construction work of around 2000 low cost houses for weaker sections including JJ dwellers would be started in the month of August.

The new flyover would be commissioned by April, 2009 with an estimated cost of Rs 78 crore. The houses would be constructed with fast-track technique within six months time, she added.
