Chennai, July 31: Tamil Nadu Congress Committee(TNCC) President M Krishnasamy today welcomed Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's decision to implement the Titanium di-oxide project after ascertaining the views of the people in Tuticorin and Tirunelveli districts.

In a statement here, he reiterated that the Government should hold discussions with the land owners and implement the project without causing any loss to them.

Pointing out that 11 new industries have come up in the State after the DMK Government assumed office in May last year, Mr Krishnasamy said that as a part of his ambition to industrially develop the State, Mr Karunanidhi had planned the titanium project.

When late Chief Minister K Kamaraj planned to open schools throughout the State, he had faced many problems, but he overcame all hurdles and emerged victorious. Similarly, Mr Karunanidhi would succeed in his mission to bring about an industrial revolution in the State, he said.

The Congress leader flayed AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa for trying to stall the project. The reasons given by her for not giving the nod to the project when she was at the helm of affairs were not acceptable, he said.
