Temple watchman murdered, idols stolen

Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu, July 31 (UNI) Unidentified men stole three 'panchaloha' (made of five metals) idols from a temple at Boodhangudi Village, near here, last night after killing the watchman.

Police said the thieves strangled to death the watchman, Gurusamy (60) and made off with the idols of Ramar, Seetha and Lakshmana from the Thipayindha Nachiar Temple.
