Telecom companies woo to satisfy customers
Chennai, July 31: Various Private telecom service providers, including Airtel, Reliance and Tata Indicom were striving hard in their race to satisfy their customers across the state.
Over the last few days, the three companies have come up with interesting offers, from offering an USB modem to giving 'missed call' alerts.
Tata Indicom has introduced a USB (universal serial bus) modem that is just about the size of a pen drive and weighs around 20 gm.
The pocket-friendly modem is capable of delivering data transfer of up to 153.6 kbps (kilobits per second) and can also be used for sending and receiving text messages.
Sungil Plug2Surf Whiz modem is based on CDMA 1X technology and could come in handy for laptop users, a press release issued by the company said.
The modem costs Rs 2,850. A T-SIM charge of Rs.99 would be charged extra at the time of activation of the account. Tata is offering four different tariffs to choose from, with the monthly rental ranging from Rs 299 to Rs 900.
Airtel mobile has launched a 'missed call' alert that will inform subscribers through a message the calls they had missed when their mobiles were switched off.
A release from Airtel said subscribers opting for the alerts will receive a message with details of the last 10 missed calls once they switch on their mobile. This will be of help for people who are forced to switch off their mobile during important meetings.
Reliance Communications, meanwhile, has launched a prepaid plan that offers unlimited outgoing calls to another Reliance mobile over a validity period of a month.
A press statement said the offer comes with the 'RCV 440', along with an additional talk time worth Rs 100 for other calls. The package will cost Rs 440.
