Tata Motors' net revenue up 13 %

Chennai, July 31 (UNI) Tata Motors today reported consolidated net revenues of Rs 7,631.28 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2007, an increase of 13 per cent over Rs 6,733.32 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.

The consolidated PAT was Rs 497.22 crore, compared to Rs 381.67 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, a Company release here said.

The Company's Standalone Revenues (net of excise) was Rs 6,056.82 crore, an increase of five per cent compared to Rs 5,749.56 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Profit Before Tax (PBT) was Rs 592.13 crore, an increase of 19 per cent over Rs 498.25 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, while Net Profit increased by 22 per cent to Rs 466.76 crore, from Rs 381.85 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Steep increase in input costs and drop in the volumes of medium and heavy trucks impacted the operating margin of the Company (net of foreign exchange gain) in this quarter.

The sales volume for the quarter (including exports) at 1,28,095 vehicles grew by one per cent over 1,26,394 vehicles in the corresponding period last year.

Vehicle sales in the domestic market were impacted in varying degrees for commercial and passenger vehicles segments, due to the high interest rate regime affecting retails.

Domestic sales of commercial vehicles decreased by two per cent to 61,633 units, while domestic sales of passenger vehicles at 52,573 units grew by five per cent.

Tata Motors had exported 13,889 vehicles during the quarter, a growth of six per cent over 13,161 units in the corresponding quarter last year, the release added.
