Tamil Nadu: Smuggled ornamental fish seized

Chennai, July 31: Customs officials seized 21 ornamental fish from an unclaimed suitcase at Anna International airport here.

Commissioner of customs Airport and Air Cargo Mr C Rajan said soon after clearing the passengers who had arrived from Kuala Lumpur by a Jet airways flight, the officials noticed the suitcase.

When the officials opened the suitcase, they found the ornamental fish worth Rs 4 lakhs, smuggled out from Malaysia for ''vasthu'' rituals.

Later, the fish were handed over to the authorities at Aringnar Anna Zoological park, he added.
