Sybase IQ database ties-up with ARC

Mumbai, July 31: Information Technology (IT) major, Sybase Software (India) today announced a tie-up of its Sybase IQ database platform version 12.7 with the ARC Retail Business Intelligence Suite Version 5.2.

''Immediate benefits realized by retailers include less customization, easy deployment, integration with any transactional and operational systems and maximum utilization of existing IT resources,'' MD of Sybase India Mr Balaji Jagannathan said in a statement.

Built on an enterprise retail data model, the ARC solution platform provides cross functional analytics for retail function, and assists users with the right kind of analytics. The ARC data model variants can also accommodate specific sectors of the retail industry like food and grocery category, fashion &lifestyle retailing, mass merchandise retail and specialty segments.

Sybase India is a part of Sybase Inc, the largest global enterprise software company on managing and mobilizing information from the data center to the point of action. The world's critical data in commerce, communications, finance, government and healthcare operates on Sybase, the company said.

ARC is a retail data warehouse and integrated BI suite specifically designed for retail and is owned by Manthan Systems.

The company has provided business intelligence solutions to a wide range of retailers and consumer goods companies, including Woolworths Germany, Haggen Supermarkets, Game Stores Group, Castorama, Ecco Sko and McDonalds, the statement added.
