Smuggled ornamental fish seized

Chennai, July 31 (UNI) Customs officials seized 21 ornamental fish from an unclaimed suitcase at Anna International airport here.

Commissioner of customs Airport and Air Cargo Mr C Rajan said soon after clearing the passengers who had arrived from Kuala Lumpur by a Jet airways flight, the officials noticed the suitcase.

When the officials opened the suitcase, they found the ornamental fish worth Rs 4 lakhs, smuggled out from Malaysia for ''vasthu'' rituals.

Later, the fish were handed over to the authorities at Aringnar Anna Zoological park, he added.
