Rs 233 crore action plan sent to Centre for conservation of tribes

Bhopal, July 31 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government has forwarded a Rs 233.20 crore-action plan to the Centre for sanction under the 11th Five Year Plan for conservation and integrated development of three primitive tribes of the state.

The action plan envisages special measures for educational and social development of these tribes besides providing them better health, housing, self-employment, drinking water facilities and training in better farming and employment, an official release said here today.

Tribal Welfare Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah said the action plan has segregated Rs 11.18 crore for Bharia tribe, Rs 132.30 crore for Baiga tribe and Rs 89.71 crore for Saharia tribe.

Priority sector programmes of all three tribes have been separately shown so that in case the entire action plan amount can not be sanctioned, at least priority sector works are sanctioned, the release added.
