Rs 16,000 cr to be used for 1246 irrigation projects

Mumbai, Jul 31 (UNI) Maharashtra minister of state for Dr Sunil Deshmukh today said that a sum of Rs 16,000 crore will be used to complete 1246 irrigation projects.

Replying to the discussion on the drought situation in the state, Dr Deshmukh said the allotment to these projects has already been made.

He said the government has identified 156 drought prone talukas and all efforts will be made tackle the drought situation.
