Vadodara, July 31 (UNI) Eight members of the infamous ''chaddi-banian'' gang attacked a provision store at Bajwa village near here last evening and decamped with Rs 3 lakh in cash.

The gang struck just as store owner Nandlal Shah was about to close the shop. His son Kamlesh was with him at that time.

The gang members snatched away a bag containing Rs 3 lakh in cash. When Kamlesh intervened, one of the robbers fired from a country-made pistol which, however, missed the mark and hit Nandlal causing minor injury.

The gangsters, thereafter, fled. But, on the way they struck at a sweat-meat shop and snatched away Rs 4,000 in cash from that shop.

Following an alarm raised by the two shop-keepers, villagers gave chase but the robbers pelted stones at them and made good their escape.
