Reckitt India Ltd sees Rs 2,500 crore revenue by 2010
New Delhi, July 31 (UNI) Reckitt Benckiser India Ltd today said it expects a turnover of Rs 2,500 crore by 2010, with the launch of new products within its portfolio.
The company will unveil a new personal and healthcare product in the next three months with many more products already in the pipeline, company's Managing Director and Chairman Chander Mohan Sethi told reporters here while launching Global Hygiene Council, an independent body for healthcare initiative.
''Our new products will drive our revenue, besides Dettol is our biggest brand, which will contribute Rs 1,000 crore to our turnover,'' Mr Sethi said.
The company spends over 15 per cent of its turnover on advertisement. It has five plants in Jammu, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka.
It manufactures a wide range of household and personal products, which includes antiseptics, toilet care products, shoe care products, mosquito repellants and personal health care products.
Its brand includes Dettol, Harpic, Mortein, Lizol, Cherry Blossom, Vanish, Easy off Bang, Veet, Colin, Disprin, Strepsils, Clearasil and many more.
Dettol enjoys an 80 per cent market share in the antiseptic liquid category, with health soaps and liquid handwash market holding 18 per cent and 50 per cent market share respectively.
Meanwhile, the company is supporting and funding the Global Hygiene Council, which brings together leading global experts in the field of microbiology, virology, infectious diseases, immunology and public health.
The Council educates and make people aware of personal care and hygiene. It travels across the world promoting good hygiene practises and after visiting countries such as the US, South Africa, UK, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Germany and Malaysia, it has come to India.
Launching the council, Mr Sethi said,''By bringing the Global Hygiene Council to India, Dettol and Lizol which are recommended by the Indian Medical Association, have reaffirmed their commitment to the general public drive preventation of communicable infection through better hygiene practises.''
