Ramesh Chandra appointed acting chairman of Railway board

New Delhi, July 31 (UNI) Mr Ramesh Chandra, Member (Electrical) Railway Board, has been given additional charge as the Railway Board chairman, following retirement of Mr Jai Prakash Batra today.

Mr Chandra, the senior most member of the Board, has been asked to take charge till August 31, the day he retires, Railway Ministry sources said.

The sources said a final decision regarding the appointment of the new chairman will be announced shortly.
