Rajnath's interview is distorted: BJP
New Delhi, July 31 (UNI) The BJP today took exception to "some of the statements" attributed to its President Rajnath Singh by a weekly that RSS was interfering in its decision making process.
In a protest letter signed by party spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad, delivered by hand to the Editor of the Weekly, the party said Mr Singh's observations had been deliberately distorted and quoted out of context and there was a "palpable attempt to maliciously convey a negative image." "The party would like to place on record its contradiction and condemnation of the objectionable manner in which your publication has gone ahead and distorted the interview," he said.
Alleging that there appeared to be a motive behind the distortion, he said Mr Singh had given the interview in Hindi but it had been published in English. The interview has been "conveniently manipulated and distorted to suit this purpose," he said.
Mr Rajnath Singh had never made the uncharitable comments or statistical reference in the decision making process against his party colleagues and the two senior leaders-- Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L K Advani, he said, adding many of the observation about the RSS were either not made by Mr Singh or had been quoted out of context.
