WB: Online Puja Service at Tarapith temple

Santiniketan, July 31: Priests at the Tarapith Temple have come up with an Online Puja Service to enable devotees across the world to pay their obeisance to Goddess Kali here at the shrine.

Inaugurated by Rampurhat MLA Dr Ashis Bandopadhyay yesterday, www.tarapithonline.com will prove to be an innovative, yet cost effective mode of offering ''Puja'' for devotees from within the country and especially the Non-Residential Indians(NRIs).

Temple priest Jayanta Panda today said the NRIs can offer prayers online by paying through credit cards for flowers, 'prasad' and 'Sindoor'(vermilion) delivered at their doorstep.

''All this can be done at a price of US 51 dollars,'' he said.

The Rampurhat SDO, who was also present at the inaugural function, said, ''This is an excellent idea since this site not only help the NRI devotees but also popularise Tarapith on the world map.''
