Notes of Rs one, two, five still valid: RBI
Chandigarh, July 31 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India today clarified that notes of Re one, Rs two and Rs 5 were not being withdrawn from circulation.
Reacting to the reports that doubts are being raised among members of public regarding the validity/acceptibility of the notes of these denominations, a RBI release said that although the printing of Re one, Rs two and Rs 5 notes had been discontinued, the notes issued earlier would continue to be legal tender and these notes were not being withdrawn from circulation.
