No rain in Kolkata

Kolkata, Jul 31 (UNI) The temperature in Kolkata and adjoining areas today soared with no rainfall recorded in the past 24 hours.

The Alipore Met office recorded a maximum temperature of 33.3 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal while the minimum temperature was 27.5 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal.

The high humidity of 92 per cent added to the discomfort of the Kolkatans.

The Met office forecast a partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thunder showers.
