Murder case registered against four for killing Panchayat member
Anand, July 31 (UNI) A murder case has been registered against four persons for allegedly killing a gram panchayat member here at Bhalej, 10 km from here.
Umreth police today said the accused -- Firoz Kalukhan Pathan, Ilavar Pathan, Firoz Mohd Pathan and a fourth unidentified person -- beat Ghulam Nabi Abdulmia Mallick to death yesterday afternoon.
Police today said the deceased who used to work as a travel agent had taken money four months back from two accused Firoz and Ilavar to send them to Muscat.
However, when the duo returned after staying in Muscat without a job for two months and demanded the money from the deceased saying that they were jobless, Ghulab said he his job was only to send people abroad and that he never guaranteed jobs for those flying out of India.
Yesterday, the enimity between the accused and the deceased resulted in a full-blown fight causing the death of Ghulam.
The post-mortem report said that Ghulam had died of internal injuries.
The deceased's father filed an FIR against the accused. A case has been registered against them under section 114 and 302 of the IPC, police added.
