Man kills his five month-old baby girl

Rajkot, July 31 (UNI) A 22-year-old labourer has allegedly strangulated his five month-old daughter to death at Dhari in Amreli district.

According to police, the accused, Sailesh Mansinh, had a quarrel with his wife Kamla (21) on Sunday night over not helping him in his labour work at Dhari bus station.

Unable to bear poverty, the accused allegedly snatched the child from his wife and took it away to a deserted place where he allegedly strangulated the infant's neck with the cloth.

The accused later dumped the child in a nearby bush after committing the crime, police said.

The Dhari police have arrested Sailesh, after the infant's body was recovered yesterday from the spot. He has confessed to the crime.

The body has been sent for the postmortem, police said.

The accused hailed from Dhabadia village of Dahod district, the police said.
