KMU eyes 170 crore turnover
Vijayawada, July 31 (UNI) The Krishna Milk Union (KMU) here has targetted a turnover of Rs 170 crore through sale of milk and other products in the current fiscal, against Rs 160 crore during the last financial year.
Krishna District Milk Producers Cooperative Limited (KDMPCL) Managing Director T Babu told UNI today that the KMU was now procuring only 1.20 lakh litres of milk every day.
He expressed optimism that procurement of milk from farmers would increase to 2.50 lakh litres per day during November and December this year.
He said the TB 3 Tetra pack machine purchased from Sweden at a cost of Rs 1 crore would start functioning from August end.
He said export of milk to Singapore, ghee to Dubai and cream to Arab countries was stopped this year as it was not yielding any profit.
