IndiaTV gets releif

New Delhi, July 31 (UNI) The Delhi High Court has restrained a US based firm India Broadcasst Live inc(IBL) to approach court in Arizona(US) in connection with the issue of their website www.indiatvlive.com as the matter is already pending before it.

Justice S K Kaul on July 10 lifted the court's earlier injunction order in which it had restrained IBL from operating the domain name of www.indiatvlive.com by virtue of the name similarity and popularity of a TV channel.

The court allowed IBL to operate from the said domain but with a disclaimer suggesting that it has no connection or affiliation or association whatsoever with the TV channel IndiaTV.

The court on January 19 had passed an ex parte injunction order that restrained IBL from operating the domain name www.indiatvlive.com as it was similar to the popular TV channel.

IBL has claimed that the court order of July 10 in no way handed a victory to IndiaTV, since the main case was yet pending in the court.
