HSAMB collects Rs 67 cr as market fee
Chandigarh, July 31 (UNI) The Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB) has generated income of Rs 67 crore through the collection of market fee during the current financial year so far.
A Board spokesman said there was an increase of over Rs ten crore in the collection of market fee this year as against the corresponding period last year. He said the state government had incurred an expenditure of Rs 10.74 crore for the development of new mandis and for providing additional facilities in existing mandis during the current financial year.
During the tenure of the present Government from March 5, 2005 to March 31, 2007, an expenditure of Rs 74 crore was incurred for the same purpose.
He said that the development work of new grain market, Mullana and Charkhi Dadri (Phase-II), Dabua Mandi, Faridabad, Jhajjar, Gharaunda, Aleva, Ramthali, Babarpur (Phase-II), Nigdhu (Phase-III), Raipur Rani(Panchkula), Fish Market, Faridabad, Vegetable Market, Jakhal, Bahadurgarh, Barwala (Panchkula), Kosli and Sadhaura was in progress.
He said that the work of new grain and cotton market at Uklana, extension of sub yard Gorakhpur (Bhuna), additional mandi, Pehowa, renovation of Mahendergarh market, modern kisan mandi of Panchkula was also being carried out.
Similarly, the modernisation of Rohtak and Karnal mandis was also in progress.
