HC directs state government to file affidavit on relief operation

Patna, July 31 (UNI) Patna High Court today directed the Bihar government to file an affidavit by August 2, stating the details about the steps taken to carry out rescue and relief operation in flood ravaged areas of Bihar.

A division bench of the court comprising Justice Narain Rai and Justice K K Mandal passed the order after taking suo moto notice on reports published in a local media describing the pathetic condition of the flood affected people.

A senior advocate had informed the court yesterday of the negligence of the state government in rescue and relief operation.

The advocate had also submitted clippings of the newspapers indicating tardy relief operation among flood victims in various parts of the state.
