Allahabad, July 31 (UNI) Allahabad High Court today passed an interim order permitting CPEd, BPEd, DPEd and other degree holders to appear in the special assistant teachers recruitment provisionally.

Uttar Pradesh government after issuing a Government Order (GO) on July 10, 2007 had issued advertisement for the appointment of assistant teachers in primary schools of the state.

Passing this order on a writ petition filed by Arvinda Kumar Singh and several other students, Justice Ashok Bhushan, however, clarified that the provisional permission to appear in the test to the BPEd, CPEd and DPEd degree holders would be dependent on the final decision of the writ petition.

The petitioners had challenged the GO of July 10 and also the advertisement of July 17/18 on the ground that BPEd, CPEd and DPEd degree holders had been kept under the non-eligibility zone.

Although on the earlier occasion for the rest of assistant teachers in primary schools apart from BEd degree holders, BPEd, CPEd and DPEd degree holders were also eligible to be appointed.

Arguing on behalf of the state government, K S Kushwaha standing counsel had submitted that only bed degree holders had been permitted to appear in the special BTC recruitment as NCTE had granted permission to only bed degree holders and not others.

The court passing this interim order has fixed September 17 for further hearing of the case.
