Goa CM leaves for Delhi to meet Congress high command
Panaji, July 31 (UNI) Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, who survived the crucial ''vote of confidence'' on the floor of the Legislative Assembly yesterday, left for New Delhi today amid rumours that President's Rule would be imposed in the state.
He is likely to appraise the Congress high command and other leaders of the yesterday's developments in the House and the programmes he had undertaken to win the confidence of common man after he took charge of the state 54 days ago.
Meanwhile, all the 20-members of the Goa Democratic Alliance (GDA) headed by BJP leader Manohar Parrikar, had also left for New Delhi this afternoon to call on the President reiterating the demand of dismissal of the ''minority'' government headed by Digambar Kamat with the Speaker ''butchering democracy'' in the House by restraining three legislators from voting.
