Panaji, July 31: The 20-member anti-Congress coalition of Goa Democratic Alliance (GDA), led by BJP, left for the national capital this afternoon amid rumours of imposition of the President's Rule in Goa following political instability.

The team will call on President Pratibha Patil to apprise her of the ''undemocratic manner'' in which Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly Pratapsinh Rane conducted the proceedings of the House.

''We will tap all doors including that of Rashtrapati Bhavan and even the Supreme Court for securing justice if the Governor fails.

Nothing less than dismissal of the minority government satisfies us,'' the BJP president Shripad Naik MP told mediapersons here today.

He said the team will first fly to Mumbai by Sahara Airlines en route to Delhi and is likely to reach there in the evening. The lone woman Congress legislator Victoria Fernandes, who resigned from the membership of the state legislative assembly and the party, also joined the team. However, the resignation of Ms Fernandes was not accepted by the Speaker.

Governor S C Jamir has not yet conveyed his decision to the GDA leadership, as sought twice yesterday, nor did he sack the minority government headed by Mr Kamat, Mr Naik said.

Taking serious exception to the action of Speaker Rane yesterday in the House, including restraining 2-member MGP and Victoria Fernandes from voting to save the skin of the government, he said this has amounted to ''murder of democracy''.
