FCS Minister assures to make essential items reach poor people

Imphal, Jul 31 (UNI) Food and Civil Supplies minister(FCS) Y Erabot has assured to make essential items specially kerosene and rice available to the poor.

FCS officials said the minister has been touring the state to oversee the food distribution system.

Two godowns of 12,500 metric tonne capacity will be constructed at Churachandpur and Tamenglong at the cost of Rs 1 crore which will have modern amenities, officials said.

The minister was concerned about the high rate of kerosene and non availability of rice. The minister has instructed all the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts to take up appropriate actions to make rice available to the needy.

The FCS department has also taken a decision to distribution of kerosene at the oil depots so that the needy can get it.
