Emami's Q1 net up by 15% at Rs 9.9 cr
Kolkata, Jul 31 (UNI) Emami Limited, a leading player in Indian Personal and Health Care Industry, posted a net profit of Rs 9.9 crore as compared to Rs 8.6 crore in the corresponding period in the previous quarter, a growth of 15 per cent.
The company reported a net sales at Rs 105 crore in this quarter, a growth of 2.5 per cent.
While products like Navratna Oil, Boroplus Prickly Heat Powder, Menthoplus Balm and Fast Relief performed reasonably well in the quarter, Boroplus Antiseptic Cream and Sona Chandi Chyawanprash are expected to perform well in the coming season. A strong support is being extended to new launches for aggressive marketing.
EBIDTA was recorded at Rs 10.8 cr grew by 19 per cent.
EPS was recorded at Rs 1.59 which grew by 15 per cent The company has reported exports of Rs 11 crore in this quarter.
International business of the company in this quarter has grown by 27 per cent. Growth is coming from all countries specially SAARC, CIS, Africa and Europe. While development of new products and new markets continues, thrust is being put on increasing distribution and penetration in existing markets and to initiate development of global brand.
While Emami Limited is on lookout for acquisitions in India and abroad for inorganic growth in FMCG sector, it has also identified 'Realty' as another potential business opportunity.
A wholly owned Subsidiary, Emami Realty Pvt. Limited, has been formed in May, 2007 to take up this business. Apart from utilisation of Emami's war chest, it would also give Realty business an independent and separate focus since it would be a 100 per cent subsidiary of Emami Ltd.
