CPI (Maoist)-sponsored J'khand banch tomorrow

Ranchi, Jul 31 (UNI) The Jharkhand government has beefed up security measures in view of the banned CPI (Maoist)-sponsored bandh in the state tomorrow.

The CPI (Maoist) called the bandh, protesting the reported arrest of a top cadre along with two other accomplices by Bihar police on July 29 night while they were travelling by a Patna-bound train.

Director General of Police J B Mahapatra today told UNI here that details were being worked out to counter any possible strike by the ultras and stated that specail emphasis would be given to railway property besides ensuring smooth traffic on roads.

Mr Mahapatra said police had already intensified road patroling.

Asked about the CPI (Maoist) ultras targeting the railway property frequently during their agitation programme, he admitted that it was not possible to man railway tracks throuhout the state and the the ultras always tried to carry out operation in remote places.

However, Coal India Cord (CIC) sections mainly at naxal-affected belt and Grand Cord would be under strong vigil.

Though police did not confirm nor deny the arrest of hardcore ultra Jugalpal, a resident of Barda village under Bishrampur block in Jharkhand's Palamu district along two othrs, a release issued by the outfit spokesperson for Jharkhand, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh Prabir to the local media said the tomorrow's bandh was against the arrest of their three cadres.

Besides, the outfit group said they would organise julus (procession) for next one week from today as part of thir agitation.

Jugalpaul joined the CPI (Maoist) in 1985. He was released from jail 15 years ago but became acive and was the secretary of Koyal-Sankh zone.
