BEST committee, administration divided over workers' pay hike
Mumbai, July 31 (UNI) The members of the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking and the administration are at loggerheads over the pay hike of the workers with the members of the committee demanding a pay hike of Rs 1,500 for the workers which is being vehemently opposed by the administration.
The workers of the BEST, who draw a salary less than Rs 18,000, will be given a pay hike of Rs 1,500 from next month onwards if the same is cleared by the BEST administration.
The proposal was presented today in a meeting of the BEST committee members, who supported it unanimously.
The revised pay structure, if passed will be made till the pay revision of the workers is implemented by the administration.
