Baripada bandh in support of Medical College

Baripada, July 31 (UNI) A dawn-to-dusk 'Baripada Bandh', called by Bajrang Sena' demanding establishment of a Government Medical College, crippled life in the district headquarters town today.

State and Central government offices, banks, post offices, educational institutions, industrial and business establishments remained closed.

All modes of transport went off the road paralysing the town's communication system. Local and inter-state bus services, taxi and contract carriage vehicles too remained suspended for the day.

Traffic on the Chennai-Kolkata National Highway 5 remained disrupted for sometime but returned to normal after over 35 Bajrang Sena activists were put under preventive arrests to clear the obstructions.
