Vadodara, July 31 (UNI) Traders from Bajwa village near here today observed a total bandh to protest the attack on a provision store at Bajwa village last evening where eight members of the infamous ''chaddi-banian'' gang decamped with Rs three lakh in cash.

Traders association also staged a dharna in front of BJP MP Jayaben Thakkar's house. They shouted slogans against BJP government in the State saying that crime had gone up under the present Modi regime. No one was safe in Modi's rule.

However, Jayaben was not at her house when the traders staged the dharna.

Interestingly, the shop Maruti Enterprises is situated very close to Jayaben Thakkar's house and the merchants alleged that the dacoits had fired near her house.

When contacted, Jayaben told UNI that when the incident occurred yesterday she was having her dinner. On hearing of the incident she asked her son to call the police control immediately. She also said that she spoke to police commissioner C P Thakur today about the Bajwa incident and the commissioner had assured her that the culprits would be brought to book soon.

Meanwhile, Vadodara police commissioner C P Thakur has sent two police teams, consisting of 13 members each, to Dahod and Godhra where they are believed to be hiding.
