Ausi Minister's info on internet chat 'misleading': Siddiqui

Bangalore, July 31 (UNI) Imran Siddiqui, Dr Mohammed Haneef's cousin, today termed 'misleading' Australian Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews' release of information on Haneef's internet chat with his brother.

When contacted over phone Imran Siddiqui said, ''this is nothing but political kite flying. This is an old thing for which Haneef has already answered to the Australian Federal Police (AFP) while he was in their custody.'' He said the Australian Minister was trying to save himself from criticism and 'somehow' defend his 'wrong' decision.

''You cannot call this a secret information as it has been dealt with by the AFP before and is in the second transcript. It is based on the intelligence reports taken from internet when Haneef had a talk with his brother. We are seeking this second transcript. Then it will become evident,'' he said.

He said Haneef had decided to come to India even before the 'chat'.

The doctor had planned to go to India much before the Glasgow attack had taken place, he added.
