AGP condemns Andhra killings
Guwahati, Jul 31 (UNI) The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) today condemned the July 28 police firing at Mudigonda in Khammam district of Andhra Pradesh leading to the death of seven people.
The AGP, in a statement here, termed the incident pathetic and condemnable.
The AGP expressed solidarity with the Telegu Desam Party (TDP), which had initiated the movement for the welfare of farmers, it said.
The regional party maintained that the role of the Andhra Pradesh government and the Centre was not adequate to console the agitators.
The AGP also alleged that the farmers had also been driven to suicide in that state and the latest incident was of a serious nature.
The AGP is a partner of the Third Front, of which the TDP is also a leading member.
