73-year-old Redt Brigadier sentenced to 2 years RI

New Delhi, July 31 (UNI) A Delhi court today sentenced a retired 73-year-old Brigadier to two-year rigorous imprisonment for possessing incriminating documents.

The court also slapped a fine of Rs 25,000 on Retd Brigadier Rajpal Singh for possessing classified defence documents, under the Official Secrets Act.

In 1988, during a raid on Singh's house, police had recovered the classified documents regarding the visit of a defence team to France.

Singh, during his service, had also been posted at the Indian Embassy in Paris.
