29 held gulity in fodder scam
Ranchi, July 31 (UNI) The designated CBI court today held 29 people guilty and aquitted two others in the multi-crore fodder scam case.
Today's verdict was in connection with RC 43A/96 in which Rs 4,50,40,198 had been withdrawn from the Ranchi treasury from April, 1995 to January, 1996.
CBI special judge J K N Tiwary awarded three years of punishment to six accused including Sheru Nisha a lady of the 29 convicted.
Out of six held gulity, four were treasury staff and two were suppliers.
The court also imposed fine of Rs 25,000 to the suppliers and Rs 50,000 to the treasury officers.
Later on the court granted bail to all the six accused.
The quantum of punishment for the remaining 23 accused would be delivered on August six.
The court acquitted Sailendra Kumar Sinha officer Animal Husbandary department and Chandra Shekhar Prasad supplier from the case.
The case has been registered with the sadar police station at Ranchi.
