1,85,70000 saplings to be planted in Guj on Aug 9

Gandhinagar, July 31 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today said he would launch a one-day massive afforestation drive called 'viranjali van' or forest dedicated to martyrs, where 1,85,70000 saplings would be planted across the State.

Mr Modi said the drive would be undertaken on August 9 to commemorate the 'Quit India Movement of 1942'.

The afforestation drive would be carried out in 18,026 villages and 168 towns of Gujarat.

A torch march would also be held to pay homage to the martyrs of the 1857 uprising, added Modi.
